Troop Camping Gear Lists

Your Boy Scout Handbook also has some great information on camping checklists.  Look at page 292 and you'll see the basis for a good checklist you should be using every time you start pack for the next Troop Camp Out.  Here's what the BSH says you should have on your personal checklist:

Personal Camping Checklist (pg 292)
  • The Scout Ten Essentials
  • Clothing appropriate for the season and weather
  • Food for the trip
  • Backpack
  • Sleep Bag
  • Sleeping Pad
  • Ground Cloth
  • Mess Kit (Spoon, Plate, Bowl, Cup)
  • Cleanup kit (Soap, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Dental Floss, Comb)
These are just the basics and should be used as the foundation for what you consider your camping checklist. Some people feel a deck of cards is essential, or a camera to record the excitement. Create your own list, write it down, and use it on every camp out.

Remember, camping is about you visiting nature and taking part in it. A couple little things are OK to bring, a generator for your Playstation is not.
